The Junde form, named after the early-Qing teapot maker Zhang Junde, is associated with classic small Zhuni teapots.

Zhang Junde was especially known for finely made Zhuni small pots. Because teapots bearing the “Junde” mark became so recognizable, his name gradually came to refer to this type of form.

This low pear-shaped version has a flattened, rounded body and a very low center of gravity. Its shape follows a restrained structure: narrower above, fuller below, with the visual weight concentrated toward the base.

This restrained and well-proportioned aesthetic reflects the traditional Chinese appreciation for balance, composure, and understated elegance.

This piece is made from Zhuni using a semi-handmade process, with relatively thin walls, making it especially suitable for highly aromatic oolong teas.
