The Rong Tian (meaning “embracing heaven” or “having room for the world”) form draws inspiration from Maitreya Buddha and the idea of a generous belly that can contain the world.
Rather than an ancient traditional form, Rong Tian was developed and refined by Chinese Master of Arts and Crafts Lü Yaochen in the 1980s. Its large, rounded body gives tea leaves plenty of room to fully unfurl during brewing.
This piece is made from original-ore Zini using a semi-handmade process by a local workshop in Dingshu, Yixing. No artificial additives are used. It is especially suitable for rich, full-bodied teas such as ripe Pu-erh, dark tea, and aged white tea.

Each design is painted by hand by skilled artisans, rather than applied using printed decals. Subtle variations in the brushwork give each piece its own character. The artwork sits beneath a clear glaze, protecting the delicate brushwork and leaving a smooth surface.

We choose our teaware with everyday use in mind, paying attention to weight, balance, and how each piece feels in the hand. From the way a gaiwan pours to the feel of a cup’s rim, small details shape the experience. We look for pieces that are as enjoyable to use as they are to admire.
